Log4j Poses Major Cybersecurity Risk

The recently discovered log4j vulnerability has companies and cybersecurity experts very concerned. Organisations including Apple, Microsoft, and Google are potentially vulnerable to its effects. The log4j code is open source and currently being used in a significant amount of software and tech tools in the commercial space.

The flaw that was discovered allows cyber attackers to input malicious code and gain remote access to critical systems and servers, as well as tech products in use by consumers.

The Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) released an urgent alert about the situation. A fix has since been released for the issue, and per ACSC it’s critical for organisations to immediately patch their systems that use the log4j code to prevent an attacker from gaining access.

Is your business using the log4j code? Or, are you concerned that your systems may be impacted? Contact us today for more information about the vulnerability and other ways your business can improve its security posture in the face of a growing number of cyber attacks.
