Which Google Workspace plan is right for you?

Some companies use Google Workspace and some use Office365 for emails. Typically we find it is usually personal preference on whether to use Google Workspace or Office365 but both require Cyber Security to be configured. In this article we are just looking at Google Workspace plans. So, which Google Workspace plan should you use?

Google Workspace is a collection of cloud computing, productivity and collaboration tools, software and products developed and marketed by Google.

As of September 2024 Google Workspace has recently changed their pricing so it is worth looking at which subscription is right for you. The current pricing is:

Google Workspace Subscriptionper user/month
Business Starter$6 (USD), $8 (AUD)
Business Standard$12 (USD), $16.8 (AUD)
Business Plus$18 (USD), $25.2 (AUD)
Enterprise Standard$38.64 (AUD)
Enterprise Plus$42 (AUD)

From a Cyber Security perspective we recommend at least Business Plus as it provides Google Vault which if set up correctly it allows the recovery of deleted emails or files. Business Plus also offers Advanced Mobile Management which protects company data being downloaded to personal mobile phones. However, to provide greater security for access to email and cloud services, we would recommend Enterprise Standard which offers both Google Vault and Advanced Mobile Protection but also allows you to implement CAA (Context Aware Access).

Context Aware Access is a security approach that enables organisations to control access to their resources based on contextual factors such as user identity, device attributes, location, and time of access. By analysing these contextual elements, Context Aware Access determines whether to grant or deny access to sensitive information or systems. This dynamic and adaptive access control model helps enhance security by allowing organisations to make access decisions based on real-time situational awareness, reducing the risk of unauthorised access and potential security breaches.

Once you are using Google Workspace or Office365 then the security settings need to be configured and hardened to ensure you are protected. We have provided email hardening for hundreds of businesses on Google Workspace and Office365 to ensure their email and files are protected.

Reach out and contact Vertex Cyber Security to secure your email and files before it is too late.
