Top 2021 Cybersecurity Threats

2021 Cybersecurity Threats-min

We’re more than halfway through 2021, and there has been no shortage of high-profile cyber attacks, including the Colonial Pipeline, Kaseya, and NSW Health. Cyber attacks are on the rise, and organisations need to focus on enhancing their cybersecurity systems and policies, being mindful of current threats.

Preparation can make the difference between the safety of your business and the downfall. Are you aware of the top cybersecurity threats in 2021? We can help walk you and your employees through these top threats and how to protect your business against them.

  • Phishing. Phishing emails have long been an entry point for hackers to access systems using social engineering, and that threat continues, especially as more are relying on online collaboration and email during the pandemic.
  • Vulnerabilities with remote work. With the COVID-19 pandemic, more people than ever are working remotely. This poses challenges as some of the physical elements of security in an office can’t be replicated in a remote environment.
  • Ransomware. As many have seen with several recent cyber attacks, ransomware is one of the top cybersecurity threats today. Data shows that ransomware costs businesses around $20 billion in 2020, a 75% increase from 2019.
  • Zero day attacks. As seen with Microsoft earlier this year, zero day attacks are on the rise. Hackers are using identified vulnerabilities in software that hasn’t been patched to gain access and wreak havoc.

Be prepared for attacks before they strike. Let’s talk about how you can improve your security and how to plan ahead to combat potential threats.
